April 12 through June 12, 2012 at Woodruff's Art Center in Mashpee Commons a group artist exhibition will be on view entitled Spring Impressions. A reception will be held Thursday, April 12 from 6-8pm. This Colorful Celebration of Spring is a welcome farewell to the winter grays. Varied talents are presented in pastels, acrylics, oils, watercolors and collage, as well as stained glass and jewelry. The works displayed are a collaboration of thirteen Cape Cod artists delightfully combining realist representations in quiet, gentle tones and impressionism in bright, playful hues. Featured artists are Johnna Hickman, David Kelley, Lisa Horton, Leo Lechtenberg, Cynthia Cruz, Rob Vinciguerra, Cecilia Capitanio, Anne Parshall, Chris O'Dell Ferguson, Gayle Olsson, Bobbi Bailin and Amy Rice. Cotuit Center for the Arts will hold open auditions for the Tony Award-winning musical, 'Cabaret', book by Joe Masteroff, music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb at their secondary rehearsal space located at 6 Joy Street in Mashpee on Saturday, May 19 from Noon - 3:00 p.m. and on Monday, May 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Director Kiley Donovan and Music Director, Glenn Starner-Tate seek male and female actors ages 19 and up for this classic musical set in 1931 Berlin during the dawn of the Nazi regime's rise to power, 'Cabaret' is set in the seedy and decadent Kit Kat Klub where patrons and performers gather nightly to escape the growing turmoil that grips the country.
